Smith Equine Performance Rehab Center was founded in 2023 by Dr Clayton Smith, a licensed veterinarian and experienced equine sports medicine specialist. Located in the heart of the equestrian community, the center provides cutting-edge rehabilitation and performance enhancement services for horses of all disciplines recovering from injuries, surgeries, and other medical conditions. The center is dedicated to providing individualized care and attention to each horse, with a focus on promoting healing, preventing further injury, and improving overall performance.

Rehabilitation Center
WATER TREADMILL
The water treadmill provides a low-impact form of exercise that can be beneficial for horses recovering from injury or surgery. The buoyancy of the water reduces the weight-bearing load on the horse’s joints, making it easier and less painful for them to move. This can help to speed up the recovery process by increasing circulation, reducing swelling, and promoting healing.
The resistance provided by the water also helps to strengthen the horse’s muscles and improve their cardiovascular fitness. This is particularly useful for horses that are unable to be exercised due to injury or other conditions.
Saltwater Spa
The Cold Saltwater SPA uses cryo-therapy, aeration, and saltwater therapy to increase the healing and recovery benefits. The cold water serves as a topical analgesic and reduces swelling in areas of concern. In addition to the cryo-therapy and aeration benefits, the SPA is especially useful post session as while the hrose warms up, blood flow increase to the limbs and continues to promote healing.
Shockwave Therapy
Shockwave therapy is a non-invasive medical treatment that uses high-energy sound waves to stimulate healing in injured or damaged tissues. It is commonly used to treat musculoskeletal conditions such as tendon and ligament injuries, bone fractures, and chronic back pain. Other benefits include reduced pain and inflammation, accelerated healing of soft tissue injuries, improved range of motion and flexibility, increased production of connective tissues, and reduced scar tissue formation.
